About the Author
R. Wane Schneiter, PhD, PE, is Emeritus Dean of the Faculty at the Virginia Military Institute (VMI). Prior to his appointment as dean, he served as the head of VMI’s Civil and Environmental Engineering Department and held the Benjamin H. Powell Jr. ’36 Professorship in Engineering. His professional engineering activities have included consulting services on environmental issues to a wide array of public and private clients. He holds bachelor of science and doctorate degrees in civil engineering from Utah State University.

ABOUT THIS BOOKSix-Minute Solutions for Civil PE Exam Water Resources and Environmental Depth Problems is organized into nine chapters. Each chapter contains problems that correspond to the format and scope that would be expected to appear in the civil PE exam’s water resources and environmental depth section. Most of the problems are quantitative, requiring calculations to arrive at a correct solution. A few are nonquantitative. Some problems will require a little more than 6 minutes to answer, and others require a little less. On average, during the exam you should expect to complete 80 problems in 480 minutes (8 hours), or spend 6 minutes per problem. The solutions are presented in a step-by-step sequence to help you follow the logical development of the correct solution and to provide examples of how you may want to approach your solutions as you take the PE exam. Each problem includes a hint to provide direction in solving the problem. In addition to the correct solution, you will find an explanation of the faulty solutionsleading to the three incorrect answer options. The incorrect options are intended to represent common mistakes specific to different problem types. These may be simple mathematical errors, such as failing to square a term in an equation, or more serious errors, such as using the wrong equation. Though you will not encounter problems on the exam exactly like those presented in this book, reviewing these problems and solutions will increase your familiarity with the exam problems’ format, content, and solution methods. This book is not worth the money. The book is titled six minute solutions but on average I would say I spent about 30 minutes per problem. There are also numerous wrong answers and solutions that make no sense how they came to that solution. It would have been useful if the author cited specific sections of the CERM so you would know where these equations they used came from. For $100 this is not worth the money. I'm taking the PE exam for the second time in October and I'm throwing this book in the trash. Do yourself a favor and spend $400 more dollars and do the EET prep course.
These questions are a lot harder than those found in the PE exam for water resources. This book is more challenging and will make the actual test seem a lot easier. While not awful, I was disappointed with the amount of time most of these questions take to answer.
These questions kick your butt. Great prep.

Excellent book with questions just as advertised. I would have thought it might have more questions or longer explanations for $80.
Well it's a great book to learn more about water resources, but like everyone has stated, the problems are much harder than what you need for the actual PE.
Horrible book, long and difficult answers to the questions.
