Author Larry Likar has taken on a big responsibility: telling us frightful things and making sure we know why it's frightful.Like holding up a lantern in the dark forest, Likar, through exquisite research and, better still, personal experience, allowsentree for ordinary Americans - you and me - into the murky camps and sometimes deadly doings of terrorists here and abroad.But that's the simple part ... Likar goes vastly deeper, so much so that once he shares all, the astute reader is better equipped(know thine enemy) to make simple to important observations, even contributions, to our public security. Remember those great posterspromoting citizen awareness of WWII Great Britain? LOOSE LIPS SINK SHIPS is but one. Like the intent of those posters, Likar's book liftsus away from inertia, a non-involvement, to give an individual a power and keenness that could, just could, be of telling benefit to this land.Very good job, Mr. Likar. As a non-professional in this subject matter, and an environmentalist, I found Likar's book to be invaluable in understanding the way some people become radicalized. I personally do not believe in violvence or terrorism to achieve one's goals, opting more for the Gandhi approach. This book helped me gain insight into the mindset of others. Should be in every library and on every desktop of anti-terorism officers. It is a little weighty for the general reader but nonetheless thought provoking and educational.
